I completed medical school and residency in pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After finishing that training, I rode my bike across the US to start work in the US Public Health Service on the Navajo Nation, where I worked as a general pediatrician for four years. I then specialized in pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care. In 2004, I became a mother and also joined the faculty at Stanford University and have worked full time in both capacities since then. I care for children with congenital heart disease at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. I am inspired by the resilience of these children and their families, as well as by the passionately committed team of healers with whom I work.
