The Giants of the Redwood forest are impressive because of their sheer size. In late May and early June the Coastal forests are engulfed in fog resulting in an ethereal atmosphere. As the sun rises and its warmth permeates through the forest the fog begins to thin out and the radiant beams of sunshine illuminate the mystical forest. I shot this during the time when I was preparing images for display at the local breast cancer center. I felt a spiritual connection to this scene as it unfolded. A strong reminder that Hope is the light that penetrates the darkest of times. This image is now sold in art galleries in over 80 countries worldwide.
