I made this small sketch with colored pencils one August afternoon during a Writing Workshop for Physicians at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House in Taos, New Mexico. It represents the patio outside the dining room where the participants and our teachers gathered in the late afternoon for random conversation and wine of random vintage.  By that point in the day, I was a little tired of writing, workshopping my writing, drumming, meditating, and reimagining Little Red Riding Hood as rap, so I sketched the patio. After a chardonnay or two, one more glorious sunset and the delicious smells emanating from the kitchen, I ignored my colleague who asked: “Are you familiar with the single point perspective in art?”
